Astrological Tacos - Eating at the Aquarius Taqueria
Astrological Tacos - Eating at the Aquarius Taqueria

Dear Henry,
Is it still the Age of Aquarius?
Ever since our very first date, when we went to a bar called Age of Aquarius (now torn down and reincarnated as a parking lot), Fish and I have made a habit of stopping at any place bearing the name Aquarius. It’s less superstition than ritual, a small act of continuity against the steady erasure of time and places.
So when we spotted Aquarius Taqueria in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, we didn’t hesitate.
The setting alone was worth the stop. The taqueria has a patio tucked into the rock, complete with its own natural spring. Ferns, stone, water, shade, it felt less like dining out and more like discovering a hidden grotto where someone happened to be serving tacos.
And then there was the food.
I loved it. Truly loved it. Fresh, generous, unfussy tacos that tasted like someone cared what they were doing. The kind of food that makes you slow down mid-bite and quietly nod in approval.
Did I mention the food?
It’s funny the way names can pull threads through your life, how something as silly as a word on a sign can connect a long-gone bar, a first date, a demolished building, and a plate of tacos eaten years later beside a spring in the Ozarks.
If the Age of Aquarius is about harmony, community, and enjoying the moment, then maybe, at least for an afternoon, it’s still here.
And it tastes pretty great.
xoxo,
