About A.D. Elliott – Take the Back Roads

About A.D. Elliott – Take the Back Roads

Hello there — I’m A.D. Elliott, a writer, photographer, and traveler who believes that the most beautiful parts of life are rarely found on the main highway.

For me, taking the back roads isn’t just a way to travel, it’s a way to live. It’s a reminder to slow down, pay attention, and find meaning in the quiet places. I write about the people, the books, and the backroads that shape us, all the overlooked, in-between moments that reveal what’s real and good about the world.

My camera and my notebook are always close by. Through my photography, I capture the spirit of forgotten towns, winding trails, and the calm beauty of everyday life. Through my essays and book reflections, I explore how stories,  whether found in novels, history, or our own lived experience, help us make sense of our journeys.

Faith grounds me, though my work isn’t bound by a single label. I see faith in the persistence of people, in the artistry of creation, and in the simple grace of small kindnesses. My hope is that, somewhere in these pages and pictures, you find a reason to pause, smile, and take your own back road once in a while.

Welcome to the journey. I’m glad you’re here.

xoxo a.d. elliott
