A Note from the Road: Road Trip Arkansas - Natural Bridge - Pivot Rock Rd - Eureka Springs, Arkansas

Usually, these come in red.....
Not something I expected to see in the South East Mom,
It's a limestone arch, not like the sandstone ones in the South West but still an arch.
It is called the Natural Bridge and it is by Pivot Rock in Eureka Springs.  I love this area, it looks hobbity.

A Note from the Road: Road Trip Colorado - Common Weeds - CO HWY 14 - LaPorte, Colorado.

Beauty in the common.
You have to get close to some things to see how pretty they are Mom.
Like these common weeds that you would normally step over, but then, zooming in, you realize that they are quite lovely.
I know some people like that too, if you don't look closely, you will miss their beauty.

A Note from the Road - Road Trip Arkansas - Coneflower - Crossover Rd - Fayetteville, Arkansas

A must for a healing garden.
It was a little chilly this morning Mom and got me thinking of Autumn.
So I picked a Coneflower for your Friday Flower.
Lovely and so good for colds.

A Note from the Road: Road Trip Missouri - Trout - Neosho National Fish Hatchery - Park Street - Neosho, Missouri

Fish picked it.
Check out the trout Mom.
We took a road trip to the Neosho National Fish Hatchery, founded in 1888 and is the oldest national fish hatchery still in operation.
They let you feed the fish, which causes as swarm like you imagine Piranhas cause.  I thought the trout was going to eat the ducks.

A Note from the Road: Road Trip Arkansas - Eclipse - HWY 549 - Bella Vista, Arkansas

And the sun smiles on us all
The solar eclipse was amazing Mom!  Did you get to see it?
I was about 150 miles south of the path of totality, so instead of getting the aura, I got a smile from the sky.
Just like the Cheshire cat.
Coolest thing ever.

A Note from the Road: Road Trip Florida - Lilies - N Forest Rd - Orlando, Florida

Brilliant Pink

Look Mom, Lilies!
This Friday's Flower is Lily.
I found these ones in Orlando, at the Harry P Leu Botanical Gardens.
An oasis in the chaos of Themeparkville USA.

A Note From the Road: Road Trip Louisiana - Juan's Flying Burrito - Baronne St. - New Orleans, Louisiana

I can't believe I didn't try this out...
The restaurant of regret Mom.
We really wanted to try this place, simply because of the name, and then, for unknown reasons, never made back there.
You must tell me what you think when you go because I love anything to do with Mexican food.

A Note from The Road: Road Trip Arkansas - Moon Over The Highlands - Hwy 549 - Bella Vista, Arkansas

I gave the moon another shot Mom.
It failed.
I struggle taking night photos that I like, I just haven't found the knack of it yet.

A Note From the Road: Road Trip Arkansas - Vintage Ad - Central Ave - Hot Springs AR

Painted Bricks.
Check out the advertisements Mom!
I love the old-timey ads painted on brick walls.  The bricks give so much texture to them and because it is impossible to fully remove the prior ad, the walls start turning into a hodgepodge of color.

A Note From the Road: Road Trip Hawaii - Ginger - Old Mamalahoa Hwy - Papaikou - HI

Funky flowers!
Hi Mom,
Today's flower is ginger.
They are kind of funky looking, aren't they?
I love ginger.  Ginger ale, ginger chews, gingerbread...
I need to go find some candy now.

A Note From the Road: Road Trip Colorado - Ancient Wall - RD N - Cortez CO

Bricks as old as Greensted Church
Back in Cortez, Colorado Mom:
This time at the Canyon of the Ancients - it amazes me those whole communities existed and thrived here - the desert is quite inhospitable.
Their walls are still standing.  How many modern buildings will have that type of longevity.

A Note from the Road: Road Trip Colorado - Madonna of the Trail - Main Street - Lamar CO

A very stately lady.
Hi Mom,
Coming to you from Lamar CO, the site of one of 12 Madonna of the Trails.
I helped a wee bit with the fund-raising for it's restoration but hadn't actually seen her until now.
Tough women, these pioneers, I don't think I could have done it.

A Note from the Road: Road Trip Nevada - Lake Tahoe NV HWY 431 NV

The blue of Lake Tahoe
I have been reading that Lake Tahoe is over-full Mom.
That is quite a big difference since this picture, which was taken right before that nasty drought ended.
Do you know Mom - I stopped drinking almond milk after I saw the farmlands in California crispy from the drought.
